August 10th Monthly Meeting

An Introduction to Business Architecture

Linda Finley
Twin Cities Business Architecture Forum

Business architecture is an all-purpose discipline that applies to many scenarios.  It's not a goal in and of itself; rather, it's a means to an end for meeting any number of needs, and people in many roles -- including business analysts -- find it useful in delivering value.  Business analysts use business architecture to scope, articulate, and track business requirements and ensure that analysis work is defined in a well-articulated business context and aligned across business units, programs, and projects.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of the session, participants will understand the discipline of business architecture according to industry best practices:

1)  What business architecture is

2)  The value it brings to organizations

3) Its breadth and scope of impact in organizations

Our speaker, Linda Finley, is founder and leader of the Twin Cities Business Architecture Forum.  Linda has served on the Business Architecture Guild Board and is a primary author of BIZBOK®, A Guide to the Business Architecture Body of Knowledge®.  Linda is Faculty Leader for the BA Institute.  An author, speaker, consultant, and coach, Linda owns her own management consulting firm, Leadership Advantage.
